DAVE MUSTAINE Documentary Selected For Australia's Best-Loved Short-Film Festival

May 14, 2010

Australia's favorite short-film festival, St Kilda Film Festival, has selected "Don't Thank Me, Thank AA: The Dave Mustaine Story" for its 2010 program. This will be the film's world premiere.

Described in a press release as "a revealing portrait of the once heavily beaten child who grew up to be a raging drug addict and the greatest heavy metal guitarist in the world," "Don't Thank Me, Thank AA: The Dave Mustaine Story" was shot in Melbourne during 2009's SLAYER/MEGADETH tour.

The film "examines the genesis of Dave's greatness, as perceived by drunken fans on the street, and the nature of his inner hell and personal communication with God, as revealed in an intimate backstage conversation with Dave himself," according to the press release. "Dave also reveals the more amusing details of performing the death touch on someone who stole his pizza."

"Don't Thank Me, Thank AA: The Dave Mustaine Story" will screen at 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, May 29 at the Palace George Cinemas, 133-135 Fitzroy Street, St Kilda (St Kilda Film Festival Session 11).
